Everything you need to know about AEO Whisperer's AI Optimization (AIO) approach — AEO, GEO, SEO, and the AEO Whisperer Dealer Reputation Score — and how they help your dealership dominate AI search.
AIO (AI Optimization) is the umbrella practice of making your dealership visible across AI-powered search and answer engines. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) measures how well ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini surface your dealership when shoppers ask about new car sales, used car sales, and service. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is a standalone audit of your website that grades how ready it is to be read and cited by generative AI. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) grades your traditional search health across six categories. The AEO Whisperer Dealer Reputation Score rolls your ratings from Google, DealerRater, Cars.com, Yelp, Facebook, CarFax, and CarGurus into one review-weighted score. All four run in parallel from a single scan, and AEO, GEO, and SEO live together on your Scores Hub with history.
AI Optimization (AIO) is the practice of improving how visible and accurately your dealership is represented across AI-powered search and answer engines. It brings together AEO (being recommended in ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini), GEO (structuring your site so AI can cite it), SEO (traditional search health), and reputation signals (reviews that AI engines trust). AEO Whisperer is built as an AIO platform for dealerships — one scan gives you all four scores instead of treating them as separate projects.
Our AEO v2.1 model asks ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini real shopper questions about new cars, used cars, and service in your market, then combines their answers with Google Business Profile data. The 0–100 score is built from three tiers: Entity Awareness (up to 40 points — do the engines know who you are, where you are, and what you sell?), Discovery (up to 35 points — do they actually recommend you for the queries that matter?), and Reputation (up to 25 points — do your reviews give AI the confidence to send shoppers your way?). A reputation guardrail caps that last tier when your Google rating falls below the threshold AI engines trust.
GEO v2 is now a fully independent workflow — it no longer borrows from your AEO or SEO results. Our crawler reads your website the way a generative engine would and scores three categories: Schema & Structured Data (is your dealership, inventory, and service information machine-readable?), Content Citability (is your content specific and quotable enough for an AI to cite it?), and Technical Readiness (can AI crawlers access, render, and trust your pages?). Pro users also get the schema detail, technical signals, an AI-written analysis, and a 90-day GEO roadmap plus a downloadable PDF.
The rebuilt SEO engine returns deterministic, repeatable numbers — the same dealer data always produces the same score. It grades six categories from 0–100: Brand Position, Sales Visibility, Service Visibility, Technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, meta tags, crawlability), Schema Markup, and Competitive Standing, then combines them into a weighted overall score. Alongside each number you'll see an AI-written assessment that explains the result and what to do about it. Green is 75 and up, amber is 40–74, and red is below 40.
The AEO Whisperer Dealer Reputation Score is a single rating out of 5.0 that combines your Google Business Profile reviews with six additional platforms: DealerRater, Cars.com, Yelp, Facebook, CarFax, and CarGurus. It's weighted by review volume, so a platform with 3,000 reviews counts proportionally more than one with 30 — a handful of Yelp reviews won't drag down thousands of DealerRater reviews. You'll see every platform's rating, review count, and a direct link to the listing, sorted by review volume. The AEO Whisperer Dealer Reputation Score is included for every user, free and paid.

Yes. AEO, GEO, and SEO each have their own downloadable PDF report on Pro plans — perfect for GMs, owners, and marketing meetings. You can also click 'Share Your Results' on the dashboard to publish a read-only public results page and post it directly to LinkedIn, Facebook, or X, or copy the link.
Your SEO and GEO scores are deterministic, so they only move when your website or search presence actually changes. AEO is different: each AI engine is asked live questions about new car sales, used car sales, and service, and because AI responses are inherently dynamic this can produce slightly different scores from run to run. The results should stay close, and your Scores Hub shows the previous scans for the same dealership with up/down deltas so you can see the real trend.
The AEO Whisperer Pro account is a monthly subscription at $99 per month. The Pro+ plan is $199 per month and unlocks the AI Analyst chat and additional deep-dive tools.
Dealers who signed up during our introductory period are locked in at their original rate for as long as they remain subscribed. Current pricing is $99/month for Pro and $199/month for Pro+.
Version 3.54 reframes AEO Whisperer as a complete AI Optimization (AIO) platform for dealerships. It brings a standalone GEO v2 audit with a three-category breakdown and 90-day roadmap, a deterministic six-category SEO scoring model, the new AEO Whisperer Dealer Reputation Score across six review platforms, a unified Scores Hub with score history, dealer-specific AI recommendations that never repeat prior advice, shareable public results pages, and PDF reports for AEO, GEO, and SEO. Upcoming releases include side-by-side competitive website analysis and AI visibility comparison reports.
The short answer is no. While most features will function, the Google Business Profile and review-platform data differ in other countries and may cause scores to be less accurate.
We've already migrated from DeepSeek to Anthropic's Claude as one of our three scoring agents, and we'll continue to monitor the ever-changing world of LLMs and adapt when necessary to ensure you're getting the most accurate visibility scores possible.

We recommend checking your AEO, GEO, and SEO scores at least once per week. Improving your dealership's visibility to AI takes time, and meaningful changes are unlikely to appear in less than a week.
Yes. AI models heavily rely on Google for business recommendations because it's publicly available, well-structured data — which is why Google anchors both the Reputation tier of your AEO score and your AEO Whisperer Dealer Reputation Score rating. In the eyes of AI agents, a strong Google rating is one of the best indicators that your dealership is delivering a great customer experience. That said, AI also reads DealerRater, Cars.com, Yelp, Facebook, CarFax, and CarGurus, so your AEO Whisperer Dealer Reputation Score shows the full picture.

Answer Engine Optimization is the practice of making your business visible and accurately represented in AI-powered answer engines like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Unlike traditional SEO, which focuses on ranking in Google's link-based results, AEO focuses on whether AI engines know your business exists, describe it accurately, and recommend it when shoppers ask. For dealerships, this means making sure AI can correctly answer questions like "best Toyota dealer near me" or "where should I service my BMW in New Jersey" with your store in the response.
Generative Engine Optimization is the practice of structuring your website and online presence so that generative AI systems — like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT with browsing, and Perplexity — can find, understand, and cite your content. Our GEO v2 score measures exactly that across three categories — Schema & Structured Data, Content Citability, and Technical Readiness — to determine whether AI will pull from your site when generating answers. Think of it as the bridge between traditional SEO and the new AI-first search landscape.
Because your customers are already using it. Cox Automotive found that 63% of car shoppers say they will use AI to search for their next vehicle, yet only 29% of dealers are actively working on their AI visibility. When a shopper asks ChatGPT "best used car dealer near me" or tells Gemini "I need a reliable service center for my BMW," the AI either recommends your dealership or it doesn't. Dealers who optimize for AI visibility now will capture leads that competitors aren't even aware they're losing.
SEO gets you ranked in Google's list of blue links. AEO gets you recommended in an AI's conversational answer. They require different strategies: SEO focuses on keywords, backlinks, page speed, and meta tags. AEO focuses on structured data, entity clarity, review signals, and whether your business information is consistent enough for AI engines to confidently recommend you. You need both — a dealership with great SEO but poor AEO will rank on Google but get skipped by ChatGPT.
AEO Whisperer was built by Mike Yates, the General Manager of BMW of Bridgewater in New Jersey. It started as an internal tool to measure how AI engines were describing his own dealership, then evolved into a platform any dealer can use. It's built by a GM who runs a store every day — not a marketing agency or tech vendor selling to dealers from the outside.
That's exactly what it's designed to do. AEO Whisperer shows you how ChatGPT currently describes and recommends your dealership, then gives you specific actions to improve your visibility. The platform identifies gaps in your online presence — missing structured data, weak review signals, inconsistent business information — that prevent AI engines from confidently recommending you. Fix those gaps and your chances of being included in AI-generated answers go up significantly.
